Unexpected? Only if you weren't paying attention. This is the natural consequence of applying the MSRA to too many specialties, many of which it isn't even relevant to. Royal Colleges are using it as a shortcut to save time and money, at the expense of doctors' careers.

I voted in the pay referendum today. I don’t care how you vote. I only care that: 1) You vote, and make your voice heard 2) Whatever the result, we all work together to secure FPR moving forward

I advocate for members to accept, to bank this and build our organising capacity in the workplace, to go again in April. But it’s far more important that everyone who has a vote does and that doctors remain unified and committed to pursuing the strategy chosen by the majority✊🏼

GMC This is disgraceful. You pushed through this horribly worded survey to try to get a certain slanted response. Even the patient groups warned you about this. When the responses turned out to be not what you wanted, you are now trying to delay and obscure. This won’t work.

Removing paid breaks is not a wellbeing initiative, it's a cost-cutting measure MFT NHS   We are amazed that you are trying to impose this change after BMA reps objected. The Junior Doctor Contract you claim to want to mirror mandates paid breaks. Our LNC is on the case.

A cache of freedom of information responses on interactions between GMC, HEIW and others regarding Medical Associate Professionals. A vital read that justifies many doctor concerns about this. Diolch to those who did the work. paprojectwatch.wordpress.com/wp-content/upl… Some highlights 🧵 1/

I have voted Yes to the pay deal for this part of our #FPR journey. The BMA Junior Doctors Vivek Trivedi Dr Robert Laurenson Rationale, I do agree we need to lock in and bank some gains. Seeing how the DDBR and Gov move next is critical information to inform the next step.

Wes Streeting MP Matthew Taylor NHS Confederation The Observer You cannot reform the NHS without the staff to run it. Doctors are flocking to other countries where they are better paid. Applications for medical school are the lowest they’ve ever been in two years. Improve pay and conditions and you’ll retain your staff.

Julian Hartley NHS Providers The Observer stop burning money on staff who lower productivity and make existing staff less efficient That would be a start. You have Band 8 adverts for PA to do Oncology without training in St Georges- this makes absolutely no sense at all

No national standards for supervision of Physician Associates, their scope of practice, or patient consent. No wonder it has been called the PA Scandal. In this short video, Helen Salisbury and Richard Marks explain why.

Excellent to draft the Socialist Health Association motion on the abolition of the PA/AA role – with circulating PAs/AAs to be 'Medical Assistants' with strict scope limitation: protecting patients and our NHS. Exciting to present this motion to the Labour Party Conference. Please support!
