❗️Today is day 1 of meteorological Summer 2024
Cheers from Kredarica obs., 2514 m (Julian Alps), with a tiny layer of fresh snow fallen yesterday night.
Nothing special and indeed pretty common there, but we like to celebrate the summer with such a start.
webcam ARSO vreme
A few storms over Istrian Peninsula due to convergence of SW sea breeze from North Adriatic and a weak ENE flux from inland Slovenia.
Look to the spissatus cloud over the coastal Karst in the 3rd photo
Quite a peculiar and common late-Spring-to-Summer pattern.
Radar ARSO vreme
Clusters of storm cells rapidly growing in the #alpeadria
In the afternoon there will be room for a few intense scattered storm, locally with heavy downpours and hail, althoigh generally of small size.
Beautiful spring weather conditions in the #alpeadria today with scattered clouds, moderate breeze and temperature generally between 15-20°C
Above about 2400m a chance for some new snow when the cold front hit the #alpeadria last night.
After intense storms yesterday, in the last 48 hours several sites reports >100 mm precipitation, locally 200 mm as in the case of Carnic Prealps.

Possible 'bow echo' moving now in the friulian plane towards Slovenia.
Several storms in effect in the #alpeadria
Intense, stationary V-shaped precipitation according to ARSO vreme radar images are affecting the friulian plane Julian and Prealps at the moment.
An orange alert has been issued today for flood risk in these sectors, and for the Carnic Prealps too.
In the mountains of #alpeadria the snow melting is on its way as here at the Fontanon di Goriuda, a well known waterfall located at the interface between limestones and dolostones in the Julian Prealps.
Runoff from Canin is approaching its seasonal maximum.
Once in a life night in the #alpeadria after an extreme Coronal Mass Ejection level G5 (source NASA) from the Sun hit the Earth.
