FINAL: Troy Baseball ⚔️ clinches this Sun Belt showdown series with an 8-4 win vs Louisiana. Jay Dill works a 1-2-3 ninth, pumping 98 mph fuel on his final pitch to complete a 7-out save. Fun game, lots of talent on both sides, great atmosphere. Trojans are fired up.

We put St. John's in our field this week as an at-large team despite an RPI in the 50s, and the Red Storm really helped their cause this weekend against Creighton. Stock continues to rise.

Skylar Meade is using his bench liberally, and his moves are paying off for Troy Baseball ⚔️. Mikey Bello delivers a pinch-hit RBI single to right, a laser on a Langevin changeup, to provide an insurance run & extend inning. Peyton Watts follows with a 2-run double. 8-4 Troy, T9.

We've got a good one here in Troy. Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns® Baseball gets 2 in T7 to cut Troy's lead to 5-4, with RBI singles from LaFleur and DeBarge after a Luke Yuhasz leadoff double. Jay Dill comes out of Troy Baseball ⚔️ pen, bumps 97 & makes great play on a hard comebacker to strand 2.

Brooks Bryan delivers again for Troy Baseball ⚔️, following up his 4th inning solo homer with a 2-run single off the RF wall on a 95 mph heater from nasty low-slot reliever LP Langevin. Troy surges ahead of Louisiana 4-2 with 3 runs in the 5th. Great atmosphere here.

Well, that 1-0 Louisiana lead was short-lived. Troy Baseball ⚔️ cleanup man Brooks Bryan turns on a Chase Morgan fastball for a solo homer to left, and we're all tied up again, 1-1 in the 4th.

Kyle DeBarge led off the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns® Baseball 4th with a double off the LF wall, then displayed his speed by tagging and taking 3rd on a liner to center, and scored on a Caleb Stelly single. DeBarge is so fun to watch - also super smooth on defense at short. 1-0 Cajuns, B4.

I also really like what I'm seeing from Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns® Baseball freshman lefty Chase Morgan, who has thrown 3 scoreless frames as well. Works downhill from a high slot at 89-91 with feel to manipulate the shape and depth on his 78-82 breaking ball and a deceptive changeup.

Louisiana and Troy are scoreless in B3 here at Riddle-Pace. Troy Baseball ⚔️ RHP Luke Lyon looks very sharp, hitting spots and keeping hitters off balance with his 89-91 sinker, quality cutter and changeup. An error gave Cajuns a scoring threat in 3rd, but he calmly escaped.

FINAL: Georgia Baseball run-ruled Vandy 10-0, as Leighton Finley strikes out a career high 11 over 6 scoreless, and Brian Zeldin gets the last 3 outs, showing nasty stuff: 94-95 heater, sharp 84-85 slider and 87-89 cutter. Very good look at the Dawgs today.

And Georgia Baseball gets more production from its bottom third, as Paul Toetz goes the other way on a 92 mph Ryan Gunther fastball up and away, lofting it down the RF line for a 3-run homer. Dawgs now lead Vandy 8-0, and it's all smiles in Athens. Scary UGA offense doing its thing.

Georgia Tech scored 11 runs over the last three innings to stun Clemson and split today's doubleheader. We figured there would be at least one game like this in that series, and both these teams can win the ugly ones.

Fernando Gonzalez rips an RBI double down the LF line to chase Bryce Cunningham in the 4th - Georgia Baseball leads Vandy 5-0 now. Neat to see Gonzalez enjoying a career year as a senior; he's always been valuable for defense & leadership, but now he's a threat hiding down the order.
