It’s Tax Day and it has me thinking about the Child Tax Credit…..If we know that there’s a policy that could address child poverty in our country, why wouldn’t we pass that policy?

When this many people are facing the same types of struggles at the same time, we don’t have an epidemic of personal failure. We have national structural issues that we can solve together. *Solutions include an expanded CTC, childcare, fair pay, HCBS, PFML.

The Child Tax Credit (CTC) allows people to afford food, housing, and childcare so they can take care of their families and go to work - and it boosts the economy too. The House passed the expanded CTC; and the Senate must do so ASAP too!

If we want the best economy in the world, we have to have the best caregiving economy.

But the cost of care is too high, and pay for care workers is too low.

Our nation’s caregivers are heroes – we need them – and under my budget, they're going to get the dignity they deserve.

📹 NYers fought hard for — but taxpayer dollars from the small raises we won aren’t making it to home care providers or workers. Instead, private insurance companies are pocketing the money. Watch & take action for nycaringmajority.org/carenotprofits

Through the first-ever Care EO signed by President Biden last year, as well as through the American Rescue Plan and the CHIPS and Science Act, this Admin is making transformational investments in child care, home care, paid family and medical leave, and tax cuts for workers and families.

Hope in motion! “We have to fight fatalism and cynicism. We have a President Joe Biden who has put forward an agenda where no person would have to pay more than $10/day for childcare and advance paid family/medical leave & eldercare. It’s time” - Neera Tanden🌻
