Intrigued to see how you will use the Open Acoustic Devices AudioMoth USB Microphone in this project.
My new paper is out in Bioacoustics: 'Field tests of small autonomous recording units: an evaluation of in-person versus automated point counts and a comparison of recording quality.'

Can anyone help identify this sound recording by an Open Acoustic Devices AudioMoth in the Murray River in Southeastern Australia? Occurs very sporadically early and late in the day. Appears as a very clean 600Hz sine wave.
Great to see more examples of Open Acoustic Devices HydroMoth being used for fresh water acoustic monitoring.
Our Eclipse Soundscapes Data Collectors will be deploying their AudioMoths tomorrow morning, April 6. These tiny recorders will stay on location through April 10 so we can measure changes in soundscapes before, during, and after the eclipse.

Too cold and wet for any bats tonight. But there are still thirty Open Acoustic Devices AudioMoth USB Microphones available in the current group order campaign. Less than 12 hours to go. groupgets.com/products/audio…
Short thread on new paper by Nilo: Since he started DPhil at Oxford in 2019, Nilo has been an advocate for open & reproducible science. He began a large-scale project deploying AudioMoths across Wytham to record song of male Great Tits from Wytham Tit Study

Exciting news, especially if you want to do a fully-funded AI PhD at Oxford! The AIMS CDT has been successfully renewed (with many thanks to #EPSRC_CDTs ) for another five years! We look forward to welcoming the next generation of AI experts to Oxford
Recorded on an Open Acoustic Devices AudioMoth 1.1.0 deployed in a heat-sealed bag with an improvised Hall sensor magnetic switch.
We'll be incredibly lucky to experience two solar eclipses in the span of just six months. The 10/14/23 annular eclipse allowed Eclipse Soundscapes to test and improve our project for the big show on 4/8/24. Read about what we learned: bit.ly/434EUWs
