basically my dream job is to just be nice to people all day, and to make sure they're all doing alright and have a laugh with them, and encourage them to know they're absolutely fine as they are.

I've watched none of the funeral and consumed no news whatsoever about it, and to be honest, I feel absolutely nothing about any of it. My day was good. I like being Office Mum to a large flock of young people I manage, feed, buy gifts for, and encourage to be happy.

Life in Amsterdam rolls on. Sitting on the tram with a couple of gifts for my just graduated interns. Will present them later. Peaceful and normal Monday.

I wrote a tweet about experiencing considerable disconnect from the UK right now. Absolutely amazing that a few trolls showed up to say 'if you don't like it, leave'.

I did leave to study and ended up staying, eleven years ago now! I still have feelings about where I was born.

in all seriousness, I have never felt less English or further away from the UK psychologically than over the last days. I don't really know who I am. Not Dutch either. Not anything. Someone who does not belong on that island anymore, if I ever did. Very odd experience.

in a way I most admire my English relative whose plans for Monday appear to be to get stoned alone and eat instant noodles.

increasingly I really do feel that if I still lived in England, I would currently be under arrest for having graffitied Her Favourite Son is a Nonce on the wall of a Spar just for something to fucking do to break the monotony and farce of it all.
