3A4 #MLLChat_BkClub 7.0 The SIOP® Model B4 structuring & scaffolding student interactions, I think carefully about group formation & purpose. For example, if Ss are organized by L1 (1st language), I consider proficiency levels, then develop scaffolds that promote active participation.

I’ve added an important component to SWiRL & have come to think of the ‘I’ as interaction + informal assessment. Observing interactions to gather formative data of many types is key to developing appropriate scaffolds &, as importantly, knowing when to remove them.
