Such a good book! So glad I pick it up and read it while flying back home!

I understand why county record office charges for researchers taking photographs of MSS. But £18 is quite ridiculous for a day pass! It’s robbery in daylight. And I wonder what is the logistics for such an uneven amount, as other county record offices charge £5–10 Hampshire County Council

There is no better way to finish my research trip than attending my first in-person Intelligence Squared with Hallam Willis !

What a fantastic way to finish a looong day! Got up so early to race to Warwick for archival research. Came back to London just on time for this fascinating show on an 18th century actress—Sarah Siddons (1755–1831).
