Busily jail-breaking, reprogramming and configuring a load of The Kettle Companion smart plugs for some lovely new customers. We seem to be the victim of Cybergibbons 🚲🚲🚲 long reach 🤣 I really need these things to come pre-programmed #weeknotes
The Log Lady Mike Atkinson perhaps they wouldn’t want to be bothered? It’s a passive monitoring service.
Mike Atkinson Charles Arthur Excellent. The link was broken so here's the working one:

Just released: the Canis Automotive Labs CryptoCAN encrypted messaging stack for CAN bus, as MicroPython firmware for the Raspberry Pi Pico. It contains an SHE+ HSM emulator (the keys are stored in the Pico's flash chip). I wrote a blog post on how to get started: kentindell.github.io/2022/10/10/cry…
Andy Stanford-Clark Andy Piper glowmarkt Joshua Cooper Can also vouch for the glowmarkt CAD, been using mine to pipe local realtime data into Home Assistant with MQTT.
They've also been very responsive when I reported a bug in the MQTT data and had it fixed within a couple days.

I switched down to 50% backlight without my partner's knowledge and she's none the wiser.
Did the same with my son's TV - down from 80% to 40% and he's also fine with that change.
Pi of things Ryan Walmsley David Whale (micro:bit wizard) Andy Stanford-Clark Peter Green Virgin Media This raises a generally interesting point for anyone wanting to optimise their energy costs.
At 5hrs of TV per day (UK avg) you can probably save £5/year per TV per 10% backlight that you can reduce your settings by. This is for a 7-8yr old 46 inch TV BTW. YMMV by size and age.
Rory Cellan-Jones Andy Stanford-Clark I was hoping to have him explain quantum computing to me in Ryde at exactly the same time, but Andy told me that he couldn’t be in two places at once.
Great to meet up with old friend Andy Stanford-Clark (Andy Stanford-Clark) in Cowes where he explained quantum computing to me - or tried!
Wondering how Royal Mail Help defines “Tracked 48” … I always thought it's 48 hours end-to-end… we can see where it is, and it’s been wallowing about in your system for about 90 hours now, by my reckoning.
Do we get a refund?
Or…. Better still, can I have my parcel, please?!!
