In a big win for EM residents, ACEP Members Council adopted 2 EMRA policies today: supporting the choice of 3- and 4-year residency durations and protecting residents’ access to procedural training in the ED. Emergency Physicians heard your concerns loud and clear.

Today's ED operations are crumbling. LOS for admitted pts rose 32% from 2019 to 2022. Pts leaving without treatment rose 86% (2.9% to 5.4%). Pts have longer waits, are more likely to leave, and board for long periods after admission. A major cause for this is nursing shortages.
