Me, an immunocompromised doctor who takes care of HIV patients and loves it, am thinking seriously about how many more years (?months, ?weeks, who even knows) I can safely practice medicine. We shouldn’t have to make these choices. 1/

Or is this a case of the master’s tools? My response? We need to apply radical imagination to the project of global health.

My interest in transitional justice is informed by experiences during the Liberian civil war. My scholarship in this area is motivated by lived experience, not only as an academic, or a practitioner. A consistent theme in my research has been centering affected communities. 2/5

During consultations, questions centered on the role of transitional justice in Ethiopia given ongoing conflicts + legacies of conflict, political constraints, as well as the culture of impunity. Several inquiries focused on whether Ethiopia was at a "transitional moment." 3/5

Discussions also focused on requirements and preconditions for engaging in a successful transitional justice process in Ethiopia. Other queries concerned victim centeredness & inclusivity, which are critical for the design & implementation of effective & credible processes. 4/5
