Thank you NIH/Oxford/Cambridge scholars for inviting me to talk about health equity and structural racism. Always a good time when I get to chat with the students who will be our physicians and researchers.

First day of class for our brand new first year medical students and my advice for them and any student (that also worked for me): Closed mouths don’t get fed. Ask. Speak up. Email. Go to office hours. Question. Show up. Be present. Initiate. Be active. Show that you care.

Ever wanted a bibliography of trans philosophy? Folks involved in the Trans Philosophy Project have been curating one for the last six years. You can find it on the TPP website (transphilosophyproject.com/resources/). This is an ongoing project. Feel free to send me additions!

Last week I was in an upscale grocery store, in my professional CK dress and work heels and this lady asked me if I worked there because she needed help. When I gave her “the look” she claimed she just saw my badge. The badge to my medical school where I am a professor. Smh.
