I am thrilled to present our โfresh from the pressโ work on #Opa1 and the physiological role of Opa1 processing now published in Science Advances. This was a great collaboration together with LilliAPazurek and Fiona Mayer @Langerlab. science.org/doi/10.1126/scโฆ
Iโm excited to hang with this amazing community working at the cutting edge of in situ structural biology! Hope to see you there ๐. Will share fresh mito insights from Juan Cruz Landoni, Matt Lycas and Christian Zimmerli, collab with Wallace Marshall, Gabriel (Gav) Sturm, Christopher Obara Andy Moore, Lippincott-Schwartz Lab
New arbitrary milestone, re-introduction time! ๐จโ๐ฌ๐คธ I'm now a postdoc at EPFL ๐จ๐ญ, still hopelessly devoted to #mitochondria, now in higher resolution! ๐ฌ๐ Expect similar overly enthusiastic nerdy content, but with a lot more rollerblades, mountains and rivers ๐๏ธ๐ซ๐๏ธ
Super excited to share our latest work on the native in-cell organization of the mitochondrial respiratory chain ๐ฅณ Using cryo-electron tomography๐ฌ, we show how the respiratory complexes (and other complexes) are organized inside native mitochondria!ย biorxiv.org/content/10.110โฆ
This surprise finding is a good example of discovery science; led us to mechanisms of dilated cardiomyopathy, a common cause of cardiac failure in young adults. Thank you for great collaboration Wickstrom-Lab Jim Stewart, Steffi Goffart, Tuomas Laalo, Riikka Kivelรค, Anni Nieminen
Fantastic work and exciting findings by Juan Cruz Landoni and Anu Suomalainen-Wartiovaara Lab๐
A lovely paper from Anu Suomalainen Wartiovaara and Juan Cruz Landoni et al strengthening the role of ISR, glutathione metabolism and ferroptosis in mitochondrial cardiomyopathy.
