Not bad at all

Brilliant thread, deeply relevant to the teaching and learning of improvisation in music. Cognitive Load Theory attracts criticism amongst some music educators but it is a function of improvisation. Worth knowing the science amongst/within the art.

All schools (including academies) required to follow the national curriculum - this means ALL schools must teach music. It’s a no-brainer, of course, but worth celebrating nonetheless. schoolsweek.co.uk/labour-educati…

Dear White folks in music education. Please don't stay silent about what we're seeing in the UK right now... music education can be an incredible tool to humanise those who are currently being dehumanised.

Congratulations year 11! We are so proud of you and your achievements both in music and the wider school. Musicianship is so much more than an exam grade, the two classes this year have both been very much valued and enjoyed by the music team both in and out of the classroom.

On your marks….

People say classical music is elitist. But right now THE LARGEST CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD costs as little as £8 to see the world's GREATEST headline acts. And oasis want between £74 and £506. Not very demure. Not very mindful. And quite elitist if you ask me.
