We’re incredibly excited that sea trout have been spotted swimming through the beavers’ watery kingdom! Beavers and migrating salmonids have co-evolved and need to have the chance to co-exist together again in their natural habitat. 📷 by Marek Nowakowski #rewilding

Ticked something off the bucket list, visited the solnhofen museum. This beat the Archaeopteryx for me. A fish that died with it's pterosaur dinner in it's mouth. The joy of catching dinner them immediately die from mud slide must have been a real rollercoaster of emotions 💀🦖

Unbelievably exciting news! Giant freshwater fishes are the most endangered group of animals on this planet and sturgeon are barely holding on in Britain as it is! 🐟 👏

Today's check of the Manx Shearwater study burrows saw us bump into EY41695, a bird which has bred in Crab Bay burrow 8 for at least the last 11 years and which fledged a chick in each year between 2013 and 2022. What a bird.

The bee orchid at ynyslas, yep THE bee orchid, there really is only one at the moment! But it is always the highlight of the orchid tour all the same

TREE FROGS 🐸💚 Are they native? Should they be introduced? There are some absolutely splendid Twitter debates going on about this right now, so everyone must choose a side! So let's have a little natter... 🧵😘

Nipped to the fields and cliffs near Portland Bird Observatory after some gull ringing and was absolutely blown away by the wildlife. Especially the orchids, little owl and marbled whites.

We had a fantastic weekend ringing LBBG and HG on Flat Holm Island 298 birds processed. Great team and a privilege to be able to organise it. Thanks to the BTO and the seabirds grants that makes this possible!

A new island, gull science and an extremely nice group of ringers is a tough combination to beat. Thank you Flat Holm Island and the other ringers for an exceptional weekend. 🏝️
