Around 11:30 p.m. HST last night, NOAA's #GOESWest 🛰️ captured the eruption of Hawaii's #MaunaLoa volcano, inside Hawaii Volcanoes NPS. This imagery shows the heat signature and the sulfur dioxide released from the #volcano's summit caldera, Moku‘āweoweo.

Today is #WorldMeteorologicalDay! Without satellite 🛰️ data we wouldn't be able to detect, observe and monitor all these different extreme weather events in such detail. Go open-source satellite data!!!!

Satellite images from around sunrise this morning have picked up an area of smoke currently lying across the UK The smoke can be traced back to the wildfires in North America and over the last day or so have given us some vivid sunrises and sunsets 🌅

Exciting times today in #Kassel. We're being #evacuated since an old WW2 bomb was found close by. #Feuerwehr is waiting for us right at this moment to leave the premises. #Bombenstimmung

We've secured European Space Agency funding to develop a service for the planning of construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms. The service will leverage #weather #data and #AIS data collected by our satellites to enhance the efficiency among wind farm operators. bit.ly/3EDEqLt
