Frank was a steadfast, highly successful and diligent campaigner against child poverty. It is largely down to Frank that we have child benefit today – a truly towering achievement.

The death of Lord Frank Field is a profound loss to politics and to our nation.

On St George's day it's a good time to reflect on being English, our long and complicated history, and the incredible strength and diversity we are all proud of.

There's a more welcoming and more confident England possible that we can all be a part of building 🌹
