October 22, 1943 | 1,260 female prisoners, including 394 women from the prisoners' infirmary are selected from the women's camp of #Auschwitz II-Birkenau to be killed in gas chambers the same day.
The tour of Auschwitz Exhibition takes around 2 to 3 hours. However, you can stay longer if you need to.

October 21, 1943 | 1,007 Jews from the Westerbork camp arrive at #Auschwitz . In the transport are 87 children, 407 men and 306 women under age 50, as well as 207 older people.
347 men & 170 women are admitted to the camp. The other 490 deportees are killed in gas chambers.
October 21, 1942 | 1,327 Jewish men, women and children arrive at #Auschwitz from Westerbork, in the German-occupied #Netherlands . After selection 497 men are admitted to the camp. The remaining 830 deportees, including all the women and children, are killed in the gas chambers.
October 21, 1944 | After a selection conducted in the men's camps 1,000 prisoners are killed in the gas chamber of Crematorium III of #Auschwitz II-Birkenau.

October 20, 1943 | A Polish woman Helena Plotnicka is registered with no. 65492. She is a courier of the resistance movement who also organized & implemented illegal deliveries of food to prisoners. She will die on March 17, 1944 in the female camp in #Auschwitz II-Birkenau.
