UPDATE: Our journalist Dimitar Stoyanov is free. The Sofia Regional Court canceled his police detention a couple of hours before the end of the 24 hours term. He was arrested yesterday evening on charges of hooliganism because he defended himself against a drunk man.

.Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project partner Dimitar Stoyanov of Bird.bg in Bulgaria was attacked in Sofia by what he termed a drunk crazy man. It turned out to be a tax official and the journalist was arrested. Bird editor Atanas Tchobanov called the attack and arrest a provocation.
