I am currently traveling to Mexico City to meet with a group called Hope of the Poor. The founder, Craig Johring, is from O'Neill, Nebraska.

We will be asking Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, for a deeper love of her Son in the Eucharist.

This Sunday, October 22nd is World Mission Sunday.

This is an important mission of the church & I invite all Catholics to pray regularly and to give generously to the Missionary Church in all areas of the world, especially in the areas most in need.

Today, we celebrate the feast of Saint Luke the Evangelist. He is known to be the patron of physicians.

I have a great interest in Catholic healthcare and encourage all Catholics to grow in devotion to Saint Luke.

This past weekend, the Diocese of Lincoln held the annual White Mass for healthcare workers, and I was blessed to Celebrate this Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

May the Lord watch over these faithful Catholics and all those that they serve in their profession!

Today, I urge all Catholics in the Diocese of Lincoln to join together in the call for prayer and fasting.
We pray for peace in the Holy Land, and we ask this through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

It is with great sadness I inform you that Fr. John Keefe has passed away.
I saw him Monday. We prayed and I gave him the apostolic pardon. He was thankful for all of our prayers. He was a great priest with a missionary heart, especially for our Hispanic brothers and sisters.

Early this morning, a fire was discovered by a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence, Nebraska.
It is so unfortunate. Their renovations were almost complete. Thanks be to God nobody was hurt and it was discovered early in the morning and the church was saved.
