What a nice way to start 2024 with Erica Bonazzi work just being released in Microbiome !! A short thread microbiomejournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… 1/
Dietary fiber can affect IBD course. .Erica Bonazzi, Chassaing Laboratory et al. observed a high level of inter-individual variation in microbiota responsiveness to fiber exposure that highlights the importance of individualizing fiber intake in IBD: microbiomejournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
Fiber isn't always an enemy in IBD. .Erica Bonazzi, Chassaing Laboratory and colleagues found that each person responds differently to inulin and psyllium, suggesting that the recommendation of fiber intake in individuals with IBD should be individualized: loom.ly/hCB94gc
The lack of fiber can be detrimental to IBD. .Eric C Martens et al. suggest a fiber-rich diet decreases mucolytic bacteria, increases mucus layer thickness, and decreases inflammation (exclusive enteral nutrition shares some of these mechanisms): cell.com/cell-host-micr…
