Nobody talks about what a good job you did at work when you’re dead. Nobody wishes they worked harder on their deathbed. Your money, influence and power are worthless. Legacies are for bigger things. For brilliance, for heros, for change makers.

As someone who has had to contend w/ the idea of death since a cancer diagnosis….I can see clearer those w/ misplaced priorities, I can see the crater in the “humanity” of business, I can see humans masquerading as bold to feel powerful. I can see what I don’t want.

My end point is: it’s just biz, life, death, family and love are entirely different entities. We can all make better choices about what matters and how we treat others. It’s a lot of work, but the results can be affirming,

I love what I do when I do it with people who are not empty, thirsty and have empathy. I dislike what I do when I feel disposable and stressed out by things that don’t matter.
