Reading records are THE WORST.

There were all sorts of funny roles and responsibilities for students when I was at primary school. I had one of the best, pointing a pencil at the lyrics the school should be singing on the overhead projector.

We had a 6ft cardboard cut out of Will Smith before he got all punchy.

The working intelligently bit shouldn’t be overlooked.

Efficient use of time, realistic expectations on manageable workload and no time for crap that doesn’t help the kids- it’s rare to find people who consistently get these right.

I’m always in awe of those who have nailed it.

What would you do if you didn’t teach?

We’re on a train with my 1yo.

A random guy think he’s being helpful by pressing all the buttons to let him wander up and down the train whilst we chase him around like nutters.

It is not helpful.

Carve out sacred time in your classroom each day for reading.

Ring-fence that time. Children deserve cliffhangers, thrilling stories, fascinating facts and beautiful poetry.
