Folks should look back and compare the volume of press coverage about Obama and Rev Wright vs Trump's partnership with Laura Loomer, a woman who last year said 9/11 was an inside job and yesterday traveled with Trump to the 9/11 commemoration in NYC.

"Filtered through the lens of Trump" is a great observation. The Times treats him as the main character of American politics. It's a deliberate choice, and a lot of what's baffling or infuriating about their political coverage is downstream from it.
