I look forward to tonight’s NHMRC Research Excellence Awards, in particular announcing the newly-named NHMRC David Cooper Clinical Trials and Cohort Studies Award in honour of HIV/AIDS clinical researcher and immunologist Professor David Cooper AC.

I was very pleased to meet with the outstanding Women in Health Science Committee today to discuss feedback from the recent webinars on gender equity in funding. Thank you to the many people dedicated to addressing this urgent issue as we seek to identify workable solutions.
