We are very sad to learn that Michael Tanner has died. Michael's wonderfully crafted words graced the pages of BBC Music Magazine for many years – though Wagner was his greatest passion, he was equally lucid and learned about Beethoven, Schubert and many besides.

A plea for clear thinking & commitment from Richard Morrison. 👏 The UK classical music scene needs more of both from its funders & policy makers, every bit as much as it needs more funding.
