Actually, mostly folk walk to the local shops. Like the data for Roseburn & Haymarket says - c90% don’t drive.

Business owners often do though. So, it’s common for businesses the world over to over estimate how many of their customers drive too.

More of Edinburgh needs this. Only seen it in portobello

Traffic evaporation - where neighbourhoods or streets are filtered and there is a huge reduction in traffic within filtered areas and either no real
increase or a decrease in surrounding streets.

Even Private Eye knows.

In Edinburgh we’ve sold off the bus station and are planning to rip out modal filters cos a motorist is concerned. Take that Paris!

We need street trees and rain gardens. Not planters.

These modal filters significantly reduced speeding in the area and reduced traffic by 40%. The LibDems voted to remove these filters... council report said speeding would go back up... yet LibDems claim to want to reduce speeding. Disingenuous at best
