We could get rid of the TSA just by putting two Manhattan bouncers at each gate. They see everything and are cool getting paid a standard wage + free well whiskey.

Duncan S. Campbell First off, you’d have to start penalizing the polluters! But yeah, that’s why laws like sb260 are tough - all the emphasis on emissions accounting (and for scope 3, modeling) rather than encouraging emissions reductions. Transparency matters but can’t be the end goal.

If all entities with scope 1 emissions were committed to decarbonization, this works (and would be preferable!) - but the reality is that they aren’t and often need pressure from customers to do anything at all.

I don’t understand the obsession with carbon accounting. Especially scope 3.

Just decarb the stuff that emits. Do you have a process that releases GHGs? Figure out how to make it clean.

Happy to be wrong here, but IMO, entities downstream of those emissions don’t matter much.

32. Very few people who are not solar project financiers understand tax treatment for solar projects (I don’t) and it’s important enough to make most calculated LCOEs irrelevant to power purchase prices.

1. Time to make 2021 minor updates to my annual “opinions on ” thread.

If you like these, you’ll like my 2019 book, Solar Power Finance Without the Jargon, a little old but still valid, five stars on Amazon.

Only way to reach these much higher volumes is through Distributed Generation/Demand Flexibility/VPP/Microgrids.
