i think it *does* illustrate the difficultly in reliably distinguishing between priggishness and actually being on target, in the same way EA's bet on SBF doesn't undermine the mosquito net stuff but does illustrate the pointlessness of trying to do long term ethical predictions

This is a slightly different point, but it speaks to something I care a lot about as someone who studies literature, someone who writes it, and someone who shares it with my kids. Media for children deserves every bit as much intelligence and care as media for adults.
