These arrests are antithetical to the mission of higher ed. Our institutions exist to foster robust exchanges of ideas & open dialogue in service of knowledge & understanding. Sometimes that includes open dissent. Peaceful campus protests should never be met w/ violence.

Students launched an encampment for Gaza at Ohio State University — the third largest university in the country.

After police swept the camp this morning, students and community have returned to protest in full force.

Pro-Palestine protests coming from Temple and Drexel campuses are now at Penn

Students at City College in Harlem, NYC have their own Gaza Solidarity Encampment. CUNY cops just tried to enter the encampment but were repelled by students. Once cops scurried away defeated, students & other protesters protested “I believe that we will win!”

Faculty have formed a human barrier between their CUNY students and campus police.
