Wake up Europe, the digital age is bypassing you. You have no Google , Amazon, Meta, Apple. You arrogantly called SpaceX a fanciful dream and it wiped out the European Space Agency. You have no Nvidia and your response to AI has been to regulate before you have anything domesticโ€ฆ

This is so well said Zach Wilson๐Ÿ‘

I would also extend this is to applications that capture and produce data. If your application does not produce meaningful data for consumption then it is a headache for your organisation, not an asset.

Brookโ€™s Law

Most developers will -either knowingly or unknowingly- have experience with Brook's law, which states:

Adding manpower to a late software project makes it later.

now compiles let bindings to 'const' and an implicit IIFE to an arrow function. Both changes help esbuild to optimize better. E.g. (let [x 1 y 2] (inc x y)) is optimized to just 1+2 by esbuild, whereas before it left the IIFE 'function' expression in place

- alacritty
- zellij
- lsd
- starship
- zoxide

I also use neovim, VSCode and Zed from time to time

Do you use any of these?

Taquin Ho Clojure is deliberately designed as a hosted language. At the time of that presentation I think only the JVM hosted version existed. Today you can use it targeting NodeJS or the browser (which is my most common use case), for building cross-platform mobile apps (or more nativeโ€ฆ

I have got it down to ~1s. My problems was I had setup emacs-dashboard that would show projects, which loads projectile, and agenda items, which load org-mode

Configuring it to not show agendas made it faster. And not loading eMacs-dashboard made it even faster startup ๐Ÿš€

What is your emacs startup time?

I recently rewrote my emacs setup using elapaca and use-package, now got it down from 12 seconds to 3 seconds with 152 packages โœจ

Can it get better?
