I made some changes to a service, and p99 moved from 4sec to 500ms
It is not Rust eheheh
It may be broken, and this is why it is faster ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ”ซ. Waiting for EOD to see if anyone is complaining

By the end of Q1 2024, I will have completed a series of large-scale challenges related to multi-region unification, which has kept me from writing articles. However, in Q2, I should have some time ๐Ÿซฐ

Yesterday, with the Germany Next Top Model show, my first fully rewritten service has demonstrated serverless is the best option when correctly used for scalability and speed. No issue, there is no need to scale up just in case.
Piece of cake

Yesterday on LinkedIn I started a a dialogue around Lambda costs and how Rust can help bend that curve when you get to higher scale. It runs faster and uses less memory that any of the other languages that I've tested. Someone mentioned that getting Lambda to perform at 250msโ€ฆ

Thank you @nikpin.ski @๐ŸŸฆ, for your insight.

As you said:
1) Lambda is using a batch of 15 while Pipes 1
2) Lambda was then parallelising the calls to EB.

This is most likely the reason why it is much faster. Sadly I can not use the same configuration with Pipes

Although I'm a big fan of Pipes, I strongly advise against using Kafka + Pipe unless you're just doing a HelloWorld application.

20M Kafka events + Lambda with 3 shards 3h
1M Kafka + Pipes almost 24h

Without considering all the other issues

EventBridge Pipe:
- once deployed, you cannot change the source

Me:
- duplicate the Pipe and happened 2 while removing the old one
- remove the Pipe where I happened 2 while deploying the one without 2

Let me sum up the quotas:
StepFunction -> HTTP Task is 300
EventBridge API Destination -> 3K in IRL
APIGW -> 30K

I am better off using the old Amazon API Gateway Invoke because ApiDestination cannot surpass 3K.

Do I miss something?
