Cardiologists, EPs, Interventional Cards, Heart Failure docs should do the same! x.com/vincentrk/stat… Great article Aaron.

Yes, and they pay some cardiologists to write editorials in JAMA so that we all must pay every year for 4 boards

Sadly, same cardiologists are on aha/acc committees and see them everywhere.

If you have no shame, write an editorial in JAMA!

Don’t get me started. NEJM, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Lancet… All have published innumerable propaganda pieces for our “certifying” boards and ACGME. The racket will do as the racket does. wsj.com/science/academ…

The ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine), and the MOC programs (Maintenance of Certification), together with the AMA, the ABMS, and the ACGME, have an extortion racket going on. To the general public, it must sound obscure. But, these organizations have monopoly control

JAMA Most viewed because it’s a bad study that doctors have been highlighting as an example of the type of weak conflicted research that you should not publish and endorse.

Check out what people are saying about it.

Took me a while to come up with distinct shades of blue for this one.

Total revenue growth for the 6 healthcare behemoths, 2010 - 2023.

Since 2010, these 6 vertically integrated players combined (note: including non-premium revenues like PBMs) have seen their revenues increase

Sucks that I have to use my vacation time to rectify my prematurely cancelled Cardiac EP cert. I don’t appreciate being bullied by American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) to pay more fees before I can do MOC things to restore my cert status. Here’s the letter I sent them after paying my fees last night.

Remember, the ABMS “MOC” product is all about the data it provides to insurers and other health care entities that manipulate health care markets together to benefit themselves. Here’s a partial list of collaborators: drwes.blogspot.com/2019/11/moc-it… 👇FTC Department of Justice (DOJ) National Board of Physicians and Surgeons

The marketing of this needless “program” continues unabated, as if it’s a fait accompli. Show me the money and data trail. Better yet, accept and use National Board of Physicians and Surgeons .👇ABMS has proven itself too conflicted w/insurance and hospital industries. American College of Cardiology do better. 👇

UPDATE: 45 business days ago and counting....still no response from the ACGME...
NBPAS thanks the 200+ physicians who asked ACGME to remove MOC from its Common Program Requirements.
