All too often, airlines make passengers navigate a bureaucratic maze of corporate red tape just to get their money back when flights are cancelled or significantly delayed.

Thanks to U.S. Department of Transportation's new rule, airlines will be obliged to automatically pay up.

Jake Tapper had FTC Chair Lina Khan on to talk about the noncompete ban, and had to ask if his own noncompete was no longer valid.

Khan says that when the ban takes effect, not only will new noncompetes be banned, but clauses like his will be rendered null and void.

This is a major win for workers. Noncompetes have dragged wages down and stifled innovation for far too long. This announcement will unlock new opportunities for workers across the country.

Non-compete agreements are used by employers to force workers to stay with their companies. It hurts workers, stifles competition and makes our economy less dynamic.

This rule empowers American workers and will build a stronger economy for millions of families.

Too many workers can’t make progress in their careers and take jobs with better pay and benefits because of restrictive noncompete clauses.

This new rule from the FTC will ban these restrictions and give workers the freedom to seek and move in to better jobs.

The FTC’s new rule banning noncompete agreements is good for workers and all Americans as it will encourage free and fair competition. Last year, I filed HB 812 to tackle this issue at the state level. Here in NC, I’ll continue to fight for an economy that works for all.
