500 mb heights are a measure of how warm the air is below, the higher the number (in this case 6000 meters) the hotter the air (Heat Domes) Take a look at how the instance of 500mb heights at or over 6000 meters have spiked in the 2020s. Not coincidence, it’s climate change.
