Yesterday marked a year since this incredible team in Zimbabwe successfully separated conjoined twins. 🙌

It serves as proof of what is possible when you put the right tools into life-saving hands. 💙

It was a relief to hand over the care of the patients to the competent intensive care team. I don't know how I drove home at 3am in zombie mode.

The operation took almost 14 hours and proved to be a real mental and technical challenge for everyone involved. There was a collective cheer at the moment we had two separate babies.

We also had new friends come on board and join the paediatric surgery in Zimbabwe team: UBC healthcare provided immense support.

Our all weather friends Utano Africa Calvin Majora were there with us providing support weeks before the operation.

On the day, we had two teams- green and blue- one for each baby. We were all at the hospital by 6 am.
