Behold: Heterotypic nucleosomes show that H3 tail acetylation in cis precedes H3K4me3 !!! Mobilization of the substrate histone tail (most likely by charge neutralization) is key ... Dr. Brian D. Strahl EpiCypher, Inc. Kanishk Jain [biorxiv.org/content/10.110…]

We are proud to announce the publication of the cis-acting proteoform-based mechanism that links Histone H3 acetylation and H3K4me3. Proteoform mechanisims are crucial to gene transcription! #proteoforms #proteomics #epigenetics #chromatin #transcription doi.org/10.7554/eLife.…

It was a huge honor to be the student-nominated speaker at Purdue yesterday. It’s common for students to meet the speaker at lunch but I was blown away with the turnout! I had an great time meeting colleagues and all the students. Thank you so much for having me out!

Fantastic collaboration with the Musselman lab that shows why those pesky histone PTMs don't always appear to play together : been looking in the wrong place / way : Nucleosomes don't just CARRY the tails - they regulate their use ...

Check out our preprint follow-up story from Dr. Brian D. Strahl's and Dr. Nicolas L. Young's labs on H3K4 methylation and histone tail accessibility. This is my former rotation mentee, now labmate Geo Fox's first first-author manuscript, working closely with Karl Poncha (Young Lab).

Just shared my main postdoctoral work in Dr. Brian D. Strahl’s lab at the #BioMethylSRC and advertised for my new lab at UMN! I’m delighted to have such wonderful colleagues with whom I can continue sharing exciting stories about chromatin and histone PTMs.

Just 2 postdocs from Dr. Brian D. Strahl’s lab (current: me; former: Scott Rothbart) with their mentor. Looking forward to joining Scott on the former postdoc/current PI list by the next #BioMethylSRC
