“Why did the College kill my grant?”
Yesterday was the first time most of us have received assessor scores with our #DiscoveryProjects rejections.
Many are puzzled:
All As/Bs from Detailed (peer, expert) Assessors but Cs/Ds/Es from General Assessors (College members).

Hi Jason Clare MP,
This is what chronic underfunding of research looks like.
In the last decade, we're getting:
❌Lowest total $$ granted ($275M v $387M in 2020)
❌Lowest number of projects funded (421 v 660), &
❌Lowest success rate (16.3% v 23.0)
This needs radical change.
Congratulations to all the successful ARC Discovery applicants - some great projects in history, especially Catharine Coleborne and Dr Effie Karageorgos, Jane Lydon and her colleagues, sceptical @[email protected] and my MQ colleague Bronwen Neil!

Here's the official announcement of the 2-stage process for #DiscoveryProjects #DP25 .
(On Thursday night, at #SenateEstimates , the ARC said they weren't in a position to say whether this would run for DP25. But now we have a video announcing it on Monday. Riiighhht.)
