Clinical Infectious Diseases Children – who are the majority of visceral #leishmaniasis patients – also responded well to the treatment.
We are continuing to research even better treatments that would remove the need for injectables and be better adapted to local conditions. #HopeForLeishmaniasis
Results from a study by DNDi & partners show that a better, shorter combination treatment is effective in treating visceral #leishmaniasis in Eastern Africa.
The new treatment is over 91% effective & reduces time in hospital by 18%. #HopeForLeishmaniasis bit.ly/3Rehib3
