High-level Forum on regional security and cooperation between EU and GCC member states took place in Luxembourg.

Finland’s FM Elina Valtonen called for joining forces to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East.

Extreme concern about the unbearable level of violence, suffering and the severe food insecurity in Sudan, with the world’s largest displacement crisis at hand. We call for an urgent cessation of hostilities and a coordinated and inclusive peace mediation process.

A very like-minded meeting with my Czech colleague Jan Lipavský. Thanked for the much-needed ammunition initiative to Ukraine. The relations between 🇫🇮 and 🇨🇿 are very good. Looking forward to deepening our cooperation further, bilaterally as well as in EU and NATO.

Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg today. Will discuss Russian war against Ukraine with Dmytro Kuleba Rustem Umerov. Welcoming US aid approval on weekend. Europe will need to ramp up. Also on the agenda: Middle East, putting an end to escalation and civilian suffering.

Phone call with FM of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. Expressed concern over the situation in the region and urged all parties, incl. Iran, to exercise restraint to avoid further escalation. Called for the release of the vessel MSC Aries. Freedom of navigation must be ensured.
