For those who don’t know much about PIP, the eligibility criteria are extremely high & difficult to meet.
It is also, crucially, not an out-of-work benefit but a way of meeting some of the myriad additional costs disabled ppl face incur due to our inaccessible & hostile society

Strange to be opening a play which makes the radical proposal that people with learning disabilities are people just like the rest of us in the week that the government has decided to dehumanise them more than ever.

These targets need to #FlipTheNarrative to be NDinformed
* turn taking (what about infodumping, asynchronous turns? all communication, all valid Divergent Perspectives)
* symbolic play (all play is valid ➡️ Elise Guthrie Stirling)
* Listening & attention (what about interest led monotropic minds?)

This was the case that got everyone thinking about the human rights of autistic people and people with learning disabilities. Such a novel idea then, but part of so many everyday conversations now.
