👀 I am so fascinated by this man who fell asleep in the parking lot across from a bar in Katy .... and then said he woke up when a TORNADO blew through. houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-w…

Texas generates more wind power than any other state, but only one school here offers a wind technician program closely developed with wind energy companies, Sneha Dey reports.

And there aren't enough graduates from that program to keep up with demand.

Well that’s an experience I will never forget. The darkness came so quickly, like someone flipped a switch, and everyone around us started to cheer.

Thanks to Inside Climate News for republishing my series about hydrogen, geothermal and nuclear power -- and the Texans who want to see those industries grow. I'm thrilled to see the stories reach a wider audience, with help from my former boss Vernon Loeb!

I had a blast talking last week with Craig Cohen on Houston Matters about my series on emerging energy technologies.

We often do media interviews from home, so I felt pretty cool getting to speak in the studio on the big microphone. 😎

Honored by this award & grateful for editor Zahira Torres & team Lexi Churchill Jinitzail Hernández Juanita Ceballos. But we are always heartbroken & infuriated for the people of Uvalde - not only that this happened, but that two years later, they still fight for transparency & accountability.

A nuclear power plant hasn’t been built in TX in decades because of cost and public fears of a major accident.

Now efforts are underway to find out if smaller reactors could meet the growing demand for power, writes Emily Foxhall for Texas Tribune.

Texas energy companies are betting on hydrogen as a cleaner transportation fuel. Supporters argue it's crucial in combating climate change, while skeptics worry that it could boost the oil & gas sector.

I hope you'll read the third and final part of our emerging energy series. This one looks at small nuclear reactors, which companies are promoting as safe and less financially risky than large nuclear plants. Even the governor has expressed interest. texastribune.org/2024/03/27/tex…
