That video of the speaker saying 'the Nays have it' contrary to the very clear 'Aye' has actually stressed me more than I thought.

It is so representative of everything wrong with this country: in which the voice of the people is constantly drowned out in favour of a select few.

In this video, the House of Among was debating the Excise Duty (Amendment) Bill, 2024. Clearly, the large of MPs said “aye”, but NO, she decided that the “nay” - barely heard in this video - carried the day!
This, Ugandans, is our legislature!
