Except for some of his suggestions on what the GOP should make the race about (instead of Tim Walz's unimpeachable character), this is great!

Barack Obama’s speech was so unbelievably powerful, especially when he spoke about Michelle‘s late mother and his own grandmother. His appeal to empathy, his stirring moral leadership, his references to Lincoln’s fine words — what a fantastic piece of oratory.

Taken together, the three marquee speeches — Doug Emhoff's and the Obamas's — put forward a vision of America that makes my heart swell precisely because it's about humility, empathy, compassion, and tolerance, and not chest-thumping jingoism, exceptionalism, and muscularity.

Can we please not use "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World"? Read the lyrics of that song. It's not a message we want to be pushing. It's like the GOP's unironic use of "Born in the USA."

Read this excellent piece from Megan K. Stack (and if you like it, I can't recommend more highly her 2010 book "Every Man in this Village is a Liar," a beautifully written and haunting account of her time reporting in the Middle East.

Who out there has written the best English-language commentary on the new hit videogame Black Myth: Wukong? Has to be someone who understands both the video game industry and Chinese culture/politics.

I read about six pieces this week about "blocs" in Asia. American politicians say the world’s most dynamic region is Washington’s or Beijing’s to win. But for business, Asia is fragmenting not heading for Cold War bipolarity. My latest in Forbes Markets. forbes.com/sites/evanfeig…
