If governments need "money" before they can do anything, how did humans function at all in pre-monetary societies? (Answer: financial constraints on currency issuing governments are entirely fake, such govts are rather constrained by natural resources, as are all societies)

Greg explains the problem with negative gearing in 60 seconds: "It is a tax minimisation scheme disguised as a housing policy, most of the benefits go to the wealthiest and it massively distorts housing prices." Greg Jericho on The Project #auspol

I'm the only candidate running in this October 19 by-election who lives in Pittwater. My hubby, kids and I live here because we love it. My promise to Pittwater is that I will listen to you - not a political party.

So far CLASS ACTION LITIGATION has been the only instrument to show accountablity & justice. Not government reviews, ROBODEBT RC, not the NACC or itโ€™s oversite reviewers. Not even the government of the day

It is a dumb, lazy analysis to say that the 2019 election was lost due to negative gearing. Cherrypick one of 100 policies, and say oh, that's why Labor lost. Or was it the $60 million Clive Palmer campaign in conjunction with Costello, Stokes and Murdoch media? Or was it

In a MASSIVE win for transparency and accountability, the Full Federal Court has rejected Mark Dreyfusโ€™s argument that ministers should be allowed to shred official docs when they leave office. Heโ€™s going to have to feed his secrecy addiction in some other way. 1/3 #auspol

In 2022, Australia gave the Albanese government a clear mandate for immediate and effective action on climate change. This week, Tanya Plibersek greenlit three new coal mines. The major parties canโ€™t be trusted to act on climate change.

NEWS: Fortescue Metals has developed a 6 megawatt (MW) EV fast charger to charge its HUGE mining trucks. They say it can charge the big 1.9 megawatt hour batteries for the massive 240 tonne battery electric trucks in just 30 minutes. The new chargers will be rolled out in 2026.

๐ŸŽชKim Carrera ๐Ÿฅ–Progressive Xitterati #40 ๐Ÿ’Ž๐Ÿงต Chris Bowen I agree 100%. Our (LNP) governments sold off natural monopolies, including electricity networks and now most distribution networks are owned by foreign companies and other foreign entities. That same LNP is now blaming Labor and renewables for high electricity costs. ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก
