I clearly need to follow rEDSouthWest. There's a conference happening in my own city, everyone's there, and I didn't even know about it 😲

Yesterday, I reminded one of my pupils what 'surfer sur internet' means by asking him if he's ever heard anyone talk about 'surfing the internet.'

He said: 'No sir, I was born in 2007.'

That was the year I was an NQT.

Terrible news about Amman Valley school. My thoughts and prayers are with all the staff who have been through such a traumatic incident.

I'm having such a good time practising with Y11 before they go into their speakings. I might become a professional exam warmer upper.

I loved talking about professionalism and the need for an apolitical, non-union teaching body in this morning's show.

Do it!! I kept being rejected for PhD programmes when I was in my 20s. Being in my second year of my EdD with Uni of Reading I realise that I wouldn't have been ready for it then. Maturity brings experience.

I cannot believe what I'm hearing about the teaching unions using our money to fund their talks on geopolitics. It's no wonder we can't get the wider world to take our profession seriously when our unions don't even want to dedicate their time to us.

Sorry for the technical hitch there at the end of today's Teachers Talk Radio show. Switching broadband providers clearly isn't as smooth as we were promised! But I loved talking about the defining features of Gen Alpha on the show.
