Since 1949, the #Commonwealth has grown in both scale and influence with 56 member countries, spanning six continents and representing a third of the world's population.

On this day in 1915, more than 70,000 allied troops landed at Gallipoli.

20,000 of them were Australian and New Zealander soldiers.

As we mark #AnzacDay , we show gratitude for their sacrifice and the role they played in the First World War.

We will remember them.

Today’s #AnzacDay commemorations continued with a service at the Cenotaph.

Wreaths were laid in tribute by the Defence Minister Andrew Murrison and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton.

Today’s #AnzacDay commemorations began with a Dawn Service at Hyde Park Corner.

The Duke of Edinburgh and Major General Richard Clements laid wreaths in tribute to all the Australian and New Zealander soldiers who lost their lives in combat.

Today, The Duke of Edinburgh attended #ANZACDay commemorations in London, marking the anniversary of the Gallipoli landings.

His Royal Highness laid a wreath at the Cenotaph on behalf of The King and attended the Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey.

This #AnzacDay2024 I am reminded of my son's godfather and the bravest man I ever knew. An Aussie pilot who took command of a UK sabre squadron in combat. But more importantly, a remarkable and wonderful friend who I miss very much.
