Multiple crews on scene for a working fire that began as a fully involved detached garage fire at 552 Montclair Ave, and the fire has now extended to the main structure. More details to come.

This afternoon Engine 1 participated in “Week of the Young Child” activities in downtown #Oakland . The annual event celebrates early learning, young children, their teachers and families. Thank you to all the partners and organizations that make this event special. #HeadStart

Yesterday Fire Chief Damon Covington and Emergency Management Services Division Manager Jessica Feil traveled to the State Capitol where Chief Covington presented at a hearing on Critical Lifeline Disruptions and the local steps we take to prepare for extreme incidents.

Strong work by Oakland Fire & City of Alameda Fire Department crews to quickly extinguish this vehicle fire and usher drivers and passengers to safety. No reports of any injuries or patients needing treatment / transport. Posey Tube remains CLOSED. Tow Truck is on scene now to remove vehicle.

Approximately 20 firefighters contained a fire within 15 mins in the rear basement area of the former CVS retail location at 30th & Broadway. Fire is under investigation but it appears individuals had broken into the building and were illegally occupying it prior to the fire.
