'I believe you.' -- something I say A LOT. Sometimes, this Is enough to make people cry, because medicine has a bad habit of assuming people 'fake' their symptoms.
Have you been accused of (directly/indirectly) 'faking it' by your medical team? Please comment. #AskThePatient ❤️🩹
José-Luis Beristain SAGES is in Long Beach in 2025! Eric Knauer Dr. med Francisco C. Becerra García MD, FACS Dr Ezequiel Palmisano Luis Alfonso Martín del Campo A. Ramos-De la Medina, MD, FACS Any of the above. I have the benefit of the office being close to the OR, so after meeting them in the pre-op holding area, I can usually go up and get work done until they’re actually in the room (ie I don’t have to hang out in the ‘lounge’).

Ramos-De la Medina, MD, FACS Some tweet complaining about the long wait bc of a robo chole or whatever, but it’s sometimes relaxing and well spent time for me. Playing, listening to music, reading and checking email.
Sometimes I only manage to eat something thanks to said wait!
Have fun José-Luis Beristain

Waiting for my OR.
I've already played a video game (phone), sent a couple of emails, reviewed a paper, ordered stuff online...
What do you do while waiting?

Very important questions! I agree with Elliot Servais, MD, FACS. The surgical profession has to get this right. My humble suggestion would be that the ACS own+ protect the data from discoverability through its lobbying efforts. Industry pays ACS Ross F Goldberg
