Drivers expect direct A to B routes. But cyclists have to detour to stay safe. There's always room for cars, but when it comes to cyclists' safety, there's no budget or space? Bike lanes aren’t 'vanity' projects—they're essential infrastructure. Time to rethink our priorities.

When a road limits vehicle traffic, we like to say the road has become open. It becomes available to a more diverse set of uses and users. Yes, Yes, Yes on K!

"If you plan cities for cars and traffic, you get cars and traffic. If you plan for people and places, you get people and places." Fred Kent When allocating budget and space, Utrecht consistently chooses the latter. The result: healthy people, less traffic and beautiful living.

When installing biking & rolling infrastructure requires parking removal, we should be honest and inform the public that parking must be removed to ensure vital access for emergency response vehicles, including fire trucks.

It’s about shortening a commute time for Richmond District residents by, at most, 3 minutes on the busiest days. Residents of the Outer Sunset: a park or a speedway for the Richmond residents in your backyard?

Riding behind my little one makes me wish our cities protected kids with the same care they give to coddling the convenience of motorists and their cars.

Best way for kids to get to and from school. We just need infrastructure like slow streets and protected bike lanes to make it safe for them. ⁦Slow Lake Street—Vote YES on K & L

Kids & teens who are too young to drive (or don’t have access to a car, or don’t want to drive) deserve independence and freedom of mobility. Safe bike infrastructure enables that. These two groups rode by within mins of each other while I was on a walk tonight. Love to see it.

I rented a car in Europe this Summer with technology that gently beeped when I went over the speed limit. It was no big deal and honestly, nice not to have to look at the speedometer to check my speed. Gov Gavin Newsom, do the right thing & #signSB961 to save lives!

Everyone deserves transportation freedom—it's time to design our cities around people, not cars. Read my op-ed in the SF Standard on how streets safe enough for kids to bike boosts their mental health—and how we all benefit. sfstandard.com/opinion/2024/0…
